Lane Electric Cooperative in Eugene has been awarded the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program certification for the fourth consecutive year from the Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Administration Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), U.S. agency established (1970) in the Dept. of Labor (see Labor, United States Department of) to develop and enforce regulations for the safety and health of workers in businesses that are engaged in interstate . The award is in recognition of outstanding efforts in health promotion and illness and injury prevention.

Nick Urhausen, a claims representative with the Social Security Administration, has joined the board of McKenzie Personnel Systems in Eugene, an agency for individuals with disabilities.
