The efforts of Business Bank of Nevada (OTCBB OTCBB

:BBNV BBNV Business Bank of Nevada ) and its employees, have helped a number of nonprofit organizations in the Las Vegas and Carson City areas.

While the bank continues to be very supportive of the tragic events of Sept. 11, it also recognizes the needs of the local communities it serves and has donated more than $15,000 to a variety of community-based organizations in its market areas.

The nonprofit groups recently helped by the bank and its employees include the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is the leading charitable funder and advocate of type 1 (juvenile) diabetes research worldwide. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.  Nevada Chapter, Habitat for Humanity Habitat for Humanity, nonprofit ecumenical Christian organization that enables low-income people to own affordable, livable housing. Headquartered in Americus, Ga., it was founded in 1976 by businessman Millard Fuller and his wife.  Las Vegas, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Nevada, Boys and Girls boys and girls

In addition to the monetary support, the bank provided these organizations with countless hours of volunteer support and in-kind donations that these groups say is invaluable to their operations.

"When it comes to helping the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation find a cure for such a devastating disease, Business Bank is always there helping us in so many different ways," said Colleen Ashworth, western region chapter development of JDRF JDRF Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International . "Whether it's raising money, providing volunteer support for our annual walk event, serving as corporate recruitment chairman for the walk, serving on our board of directors or securing auction items for our spring gala, Business Bank epitomizes the word community-minded."

The bank's philanthropic outreach continues next month with holiday food drives and adopt-a-family programs in the Las Vegas and Carson City areas.

The food drive in Las Vegas will support the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, while the food drive in Carson City will support F.I.S.H. The adopt-a-family holiday program in Carson City will also support F.I.S.H., while the one in Las Vegas will support H.E.L.P. of Southern Nevada.

"I don't think any of us can fully comprehend the suffering that people back east are experiencing right now, and our hearts go out to these families and individuals who have lost so much," said Business Bank President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  John Guedry. "We recognize, however, that the tragic events of September 11 have affected every community across the country, and helping people and families in our local communities is just as important."

Guedry added that because the bank's philanthropic budget is modest compared to larger companies, a sizeable portion of the bank's community outreach comes in the form of volunteer and in-kind support.

This volunteer support will be exemplified once again in early December when the bank's employees take part in a house framing with Habitat for Humanity of Las Vegas and help provide staffing at the Opportunity Village Magical Forest holiday event.
