Lara will be housed in the bank's corporate offices in Las Vegas, which is located at 6085 West Twain Avenue on the southeast corner of Jones Boulevard. As one of two commercial loan officers who specialize in commercial real estate lending for the bank, Lara will be responsible for loan underwriting, relationship and risk management, customer retention and business development of existing and new clients. Lara will work very closely with the bank's other commercial loan officers and branch managers to help underwrite and generate both commercial loans and commercial real estate loans. Lara joins Business Bank from Advance Bank in Lansing, Ill., where he worked for the past three years as a commercial loan officer, and as vice president and commercial loan manager. While working for Advance Bank, Lara directed and managed the activities of a commercial lending team that was responsible for a $120 million commercial loan portfolio. Prior to joining Advance Bank, Lara worked for Civitas Bank in Valparaiso, Ind. for a little over two years as a commercial loan officer and as vice president and retail sales executive. He has also worked for Pullman Bank & Trust Co. in Chicago as vice president and commercial loan officer for approximately one year, and for Mercantile National Bank of Indiana in Hammond, Ind., as an assistant cashier, credit analyst and commercial loan officer for more than 10 years. Lara is a 1985 graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind., with a Bachelor of Science Noun 1.
