Business Activity Intense at Applied Terravision; Company Sees Past Three Months as a Map for Future Successes.

CALGARY, Alberta and DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 27, 1999--

When Bob Tretiak, president of Applied Terravision Systems Inc. (Alberta Stock Exchange: TER), reviews the past three months he sees the kind of activity that will carry the company successfully into the new millenium.

"Since August, ATS has released several new products, entered into lucrative contracts with the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bank of America and Fina, and won an award for being one of the fastest growing Canadian technology companies," said Tretiak. The company's recent activities include:

New Accounts

-- The U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs has given notification of its

intent to exercise a US$6 million second-year option under the

terms of an existing five-year contract with ATS to help solve

BIA's complex land title disputes. The Trust Asset and Accounting

Management System developed by ATS is a multi-function system

being implemented in 12 BIA regional offices, 89 field offices

and in over 120 tribes performing BIA functions. TAAMS has a

trillion bytes of data storage for land title and records, and

realty activity, including accounts receivables for Indian

trustees. The system is run on AS/400 servers at Applied

Terravision's Dallas data center and is used by more than 3,000

BIA staff. Comdisco (NYSE:CDO) provides disaster backup and

there will also be ATS help-desk functions in Albuquerque and

Dallas.

-- The BIA also awarded ATS a second US$700,000 deal this month as

an extension of services beyond the original agreement. The

contract will allow ATS to handle data administration and

management services for the TAAMS software, including managing a

data dictionary, creating on-line documentation and continuously

checking the database validity.

-- ATS entered into a US$3 million, five-year contract for its

Artesia Trust System with Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) for use in

the Private Bank Professional Services Division, which manages

oil, gas and mineral properties. The system will track complex

assets, including mineral, royalty and producing working

interests, partnerships, surface rights, equipment ownership and

all other types of interests managed, owned or created in the oil

and gas industry. ATS will also track revenue, expenses and fees,

as well as producing reports and statements required for

beneficiaries, attorneys, accountants, advisors and other

involved parties.

-- ATS signed a US$250,000-per-year outsourcing agreement to provide

operating management for FINA, Inc.`s IBM AS/400 computers at

FINA's Houston data center. ATS will provide base services for

the AS/400s, including system monitoring, programming,

maintenance and disaster recovery services, as well as technical

support and help desk services. FINA, a unit of the TOTALFINA

group (NYSE:TOT), previously implemented the Artesia System from

ATS containing a suite of applications providing information

management.

New Products and Agreements

-- EnVision, an e-business financial and accounting solution, is the

next generation of back-office business systems for energy

exploration and production professionals. The enVision

application is an advanced modular system, which includes

components necessary for financial and joint-venture accounting,

budgeting and corporate planning. The modules provide users with

a complete picture of corporate finances and allow companies to

track short-term profits and long-term growth online. It uses the

latest technology from Oracle and is fully Web-enabled.

-- Terravision Preview, an asset-management system, allows ATS

customers to manage the full range of asset information by

providing complete, systemwide integration. It enables customers

to evaluate changes in production rates, reserves and net present

value resulting from acquisition, exploration or development

activity in focused areas and can measure real return on

investment in these areas. The system can assess value for

potential acquisitions or dispositions of properties or assets;

provide backup information to potential buyers; and help

customers meet key corporate performance targets by

reconsolidating asset-base performance with capital budget plans.

-- In an exclusive year-to-year agreement Petrolis, a division of

L.I.M.S., Inc., will be the preferred electronic data interchange 

provider to ATS customers. Petrolis develops e-commerce solutions

for the petroleum industry, including Checkstub, a service for

oil and gas revenue check processing that is compatible with data

in the Artesia System from ATS.
