Business 2.0 Launches Second Annual Sweet Spot Awards; Search for the Year's Most Inventive Marketers Begins.

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 10, 2003

Business 2.0 magazine has issued a call for entries for the second annual Sweet Spot Awards, in search of the most innovative and successful marketers of the past year. Winners of the 2003 Business 2.0 Sweet Spot Awards will be announced in the May issue, on newsstands April 28. Last year's winners included BMW's Mini USA, Showtime's Queer as Folk Queer as Folk may refer to:
  • Queer as Folk (UK TV series) (1999-2000), a British television series about a group of gay men
  • Queer as Folk (US TV series) (2000-2005), a North American remake of the British series

Most Innovative Campaign:

This award honors companies whose campaigns have made highly effective and innovative use of technology to introduce influential new marketing tactics. Campaigns should have a technology component but are not restricted to technology-only efforts and may be part of an integrated online-offline initiative. Campaigns of all size are eligible.

This award goes to companies that have accomplished a lot more with a lot less. The winning campaign will have had the greatest marketing success per dollar invested. Local, regional, or national campaigns are eligible but must cost less than $250,000 for local, less than $1 million for regional, or less than $2 million for national.

Best Brand Overhaul:

This award celebrates companies that have taken an old or tired brand and shot it full of energy. Judges will examine both creativity and how much buzz the new brand is getting, as well as how the rebranding has affected continuity of the brand image and product sales. Campaigns of all sizes are eligible.

Submissions will be evaluated by Business 2.0 editors and a panel of distinguished marketing, academic, and creative professionals.
