Business 2.0 Expands Online Team; Business2.com Staffs Up In Anticipation of Site Expansion.

The Business Division of Imagine Media Inc., publisher of the award-winning consumer business magazine Business 2.0, today announced a series of key hires tapped to fuel the rapid growth of its companion Website, Business2.com.

Spearheading the efforts of Business2.com is Online Vice President/General Manager Nicole Brown. Brown joins Business2.com from Red Herring Red Herring

He has also toured and/or recorded with artists such as Lorie Line, Bradley Joseph, Butch Morris, John Devine, Tony Moreno, Don Cherry, Peter Mayer, Peter Ostroushko, Claudia , senior webmaster; and Jim Welte, online reporter. Spears joins the staff from Red Herring, where he helped increase their online traffic four-fold as product manager. Business2.com has achieved more than 390 percent impression growth from August 1999 to March 2000, with over 360 percent growth in unique visitors A count of how many different people access a Web site. Nicole C. Brown, Vice President/General Manager

Brown is responsible for directing all aspects of Business2.com, from sales and marketing to editorial content and operations. Brown comes to Imagine with over 14 years in publishing, advertising, and Internet experience, primarily in sales, marketing, and strategic business planning.

She has held management positions at Red Herring, Conde Nast, and The New Yorker. Most recently, she served as advertising director at Red Herring magazine where she was responsible for increasing revenue 300 percent over a three-year period. Prior to publishing, Brown worked in advertising, planning, and buying media. Brown holds a degree in French Literature from the University of Virginia.

Robert Spears, Chief Strategist

Spears oversees strategic planning and business development for Business2.com. He joins the Business 2.com team after helping Red Herring increase their online traffic four-fold within one year. Prior to his migration to the media industry, Spears worked for several high-tech startups over a ten-year period in roles ranging from software engineer to product manager. He has an MBA MBA
