Bush visits hurricane-hit Florida.


THE presidential helicopter flew over destroyed homes, downed power lines and uprooted trees yesterday as George W. Bush, and his brother, Florida Governor Jeb Bush John Ellis "Jeb" Bush (born February 11, 1953) is an American politician, and was the 43rd Governor of Florida as well as the first Republican to be re-elected to that office. Hurricane Charley was the third named storm, the second hurricane, and the second major hurricane of the 2004 Atlantic hurricane season.

Bush visited the state to assess the damage two days after declaring Florida a major disaster area. Charley killed at least 13 people and left thousands homeless. State officials said early estimates of the hurricane's residential property damage ranged from $5 to $11bn (pounds 2. 8-pounds 6. 2bn).
