Bush must be analyzed impartially.Joaquin Cabrejas' article in the November/December 2003 issue of the Humanist hu·man·ist n. 1. A believer in the principles of humanism. 2. One who is concerned with the interests and welfare of humans. 3. a. A classical scholar. b. A student of the liberal arts. was precisely the kind of clearheaded clear·head·ed adj. Having a clear, orderly mind; sensible. clear head and rational
approach that is needed when analyzing the policies of the Bush
administration. Critics often resort to demonizing and assigning as·sign tr.v. as·signed, as·sign·ing, as·signs 1. To set apart for a particular purpose; designate: assigned a day for the inspection. 2. "evil" motivations to those they disagree with Verb 1. disagree with - not be very easily digestible; "Spicy food disagrees with some people" hurt - give trouble or pain to; "This exercise will hurt your back" ; this gets us nowhere and tells us nothing. Bush and the neoconservatives who surround him may be cynical in approach and in grave error in policy but they don't intend to do wrong. Indeed, it is important to remember that Bush believes he is on the side of the angels. Cabrejas avoids all the pitfalls and gives compelling evidence of the ideologically driven motives of this administration. This will help Americans truly understand why they have acted in certain ways and how they may act next. For those of us who disagree with the Bush administration, this is invaluable.
