Bush administration approves of UN status for homosexual groups.

The UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) has granted official status to three European homosexual organizations. After initially objecting to awarding this coveted status to such groups, the Bush administration's representative went along and voted for it.

Two of the groups gaining UN approval were the Danish National Association for Gays and Lesbians and the Gay Federation in Germany. Also winning approval was the International Lesbian and Gay Federation (ILGA ILGA Illinois General Assembly

The vote to accept the three organizations by the UN's ECOSOC was 23 in favor, 16 against, and 10 abstentions, with the United States voting approval.
