Bush & Blair Meet Iranian opposition.

 on May 30 got background briefings from Iranian opposition activists, including one visitor to the White House, Amir Taheri Amir Taheri is an Iranian-born journalist and author based in Europe. His writings focus on the Middle East affairs and topics related to Islamist terrorism. Taheri's public speaking engagements are arranged by Benador Associates, a public relations firm with a predominantly , who caused a storm earlier in May by reporting that Iran had passed a law requiring Jews Jews [from Judah], traditionally, descendants of Judah, the fourth son of Jacob, whose tribe, with that of his half brother Benjamin, made up the kingdom of Judah; historically, members of the worldwide community of adherents to Judaism.  and other non-Muslims to wear special identification. The Financial Times on May 31 reported White House officials as saying Taheri, a London-based pro-Pahlavi editor of Keyhan Internatinal, was among experts invited to discuss Iran and the region with Bush. Taheri is well known for his support of the war in Iraq and regime change in Iran.

The FT quoted a UK spokeswoman as confirming that PM Blair had met Iranian opposition activists for a "background briefing". The paper added: "She declined to say who had given the briefing, which she said was not a policy discussion".
