Buscemi's International, Inc. acquires Durango Grill, U.S.A., Inc.


ROSEVILLE, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 30, 1994--Anthony P. Buscemi, president of Buscemi's International, Inc., a Michigan Michigan (mĭsh`ĭgən), upper midwestern state of the United States. It consists of two peninsulas thrusting into the Great Lakes and has borders with Ohio and Indiana (S), Wisconsin (W), and the Canadian province of Ontario (N,E).  based chain of franchised pizza and sub shoppes, announced today that Buscemi's has acquired Durango Grill Grill may refer to:

Durango Grill, located in Royal Oak, MI, was originated by Chef Keith Famie Keith Famie (born February 11, 1960) was a contestant on the CBS reality television series, . He was the 14th person to be voted off. On the show, he was awarded an online chat with his girlfriend, where he proposed marriage and she accepted. . Mr. Famie and his partners will retain independent ownership of the Royal Oak location, and sign a license agreement with Buscemi's, who will receive a management fee from Durango Grill, Royal Oak. Mr. Famie will become a major shareholder in Buscemi's International, be named to the Board of Directors, and be appointed Vice President of Marketing and Concept Development. He will retain title of President of Durango Grill, U.S.A., Inc.

Mr. Buscemi also announced that Buscemi's has secured a location for its first company-owned Durango Grill, in Sterling Heights Sterling Heights, city (1990 pop. 117,810), Macomb co., SE Mich., on the Clinton River; platted 1835 as Jefferson Township, renamed 1838, inc. 1968. Largely rural until the mid-20th cent., the city grew as a suburb of Detroit, 19 mi (31 km) to the northeast. , MI. Chef Famie said, ``This location will serve as the prototype for the expansion of the Durango Grill concept. The future expansion plans of Durango Grill include opening in major tourist trade cities across the country.'' The restaurant, with the visual impact of the Hard Rock Cafe Hard Rock Cafe is a chain of casual dining restaurants. It was founded in 1971 by Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton, and their first Hard Rock Cafe opened near Hyde Park Corner in London, in a former Rolls Royce car dealerships showroom close to Hyde Park, where in 1979 they began to , and Planet Hollywood restaurants, will house a retail space selling western wear, and other related merchandise featuring the Durango Grill logo.
