Bus travel still has a long way to go; Letters.

ALTHOUGH much has been done to improve the local bus network, much, much more needs to be done to entice people to use buses instead of cars. I would make the following points: 1. The real-time displays in many of the bus stops either do not work on a regular basis or are inaccurate.

2. When the real-time display is not working, one is asked to refer to the appropriate timetable - many bus stops are not provided with timetables.

3. The SMS (1) (Storage Management System) Software used to routinely back up and archive files. See HSM.

(2) (Systems Management Server) Systems management software from Microsoft that runs on Windows NT Server.
system is only available to those with a mobile phone or hand-held computer - why not get the real-time display in bus stops to work reliably? 4. The statement about the comfortable waiting environment ob-viousldoes not apply to the Broad Lane/ Eastern Green area of the city, where many of the bus stops have no weather protection and those that have must date from the 1940 era.

So as I stated previously, much more needs to be done.
