Revinetix, a pioneer in Disk2Disk2Disk(TM) backup solutions, today announced that Burton Lumber is now using a Revinetix Sentio2000 network backup appliance at its corporate headquarters to safeguard all network servers, including those located at Burton's six lumber yard lumber yard n (US) → almacén m de madera

It consists of a chain of cities and towns stretched along the Wasatch Range from approximately Santaquin in the south to Brigham City in the north. . The company's former backup solution could not keep up the company's distributed backup needs nor did it offer the same speed, ease-of-use or reliability.

"The Revinetix solution handles all our backup needs from a single appliance," said Burton Lumber MIS Director See CIO.

MIS Director - Chief Information Officer
Bart Lund. "Locally, we can provide backup to any user on our LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area. The "clients" are the user's workstations typically running Windows, although Mac and Linux clients are also used. , and via the WAN, we can back up servers located at our other stores. Revinetix's Click-Eject-Archive software manages the entire process for us. We also take advantage of SATA (Serial ATA) A serial version of the ATA (IDE) interface, which has been the de facto standard hard disk interface for desktop PCs for more than two decades. The original Parallel ATA (PATA) interface was launched in 1986.  drive technology, now keeping all our critical data on disk."

With six lumber yard locations, a truss truss, in architecture and engineering, a supporting structure or framework composed of beams, girders, or rods commonly of steel or wood lying in a single plane.  plant, door shop and a full fleet of delivery vehicles, Burton Lumber & Hardware Co. is the No. 1 full-service lumber yard in the state of Utah. Each of Burton's operations is linked together through broadband network connections, allowing servers located at its main Salt Lake City facilities to be accessed from any of its other business sites. The company's previous data backup solution required the purchase of individual server licenses for each machine -- not a viable option for servers located at its remote facilities.

After looking at several backup options, Burton chose the Sentio2000 from Revinetix. The Sentio2000 provides up to 1.5TB of (uncompressed) data capacity -- sufficient to handle all of the company's backup needs. This appliance also features dual processors, RAID hardware, and dual-redundant load-sharing power supplies, along with all the necessary client software that is required -- thus eliminating the costly expense of providing backup to a large number of different machines.

Burton Lumber's automated backup has already resulted in costs savings to both administrative and equipment costs. "Revinetix's Sentio appliance was a complete solution for all of our shops across the state at one cost," Lund said. "To deploy a solution with similar capabilities to what we have now, we would have had to purchase hardware from several different manufacturers as well as the accompanying software."

Burton Lumber also takes advantage of Revinetix's powerful Bare Metal Restore (BMR BMR basal metabolic rate.

) software included with the Sentio. This software tool allows the IT department to save a disk image onto the backup appliance and quickly restore that image when necessary. "The BMR software saves our IT department valuable time when we need to get someone back up and running," Lund continued.
