discuss the issues facing the network industry, and move toward solutions to key problems.

To be held July 9-12 in Colorado Springs Colorado Springs, city (1990 pop. 281,140), seat of El Paso co., central Colo., on Monument and Fountain creeks, at the foot of Pikes Peak; inc. 1886. It is a year-round resort and a booming military, technological, and commercial city. , Colo., BG95 is unique in several ways. First, and unlike other conferences and trade shows, BG95 is designed to be completely vendor-neutral. The conference is sponsored solely by The Burton Group. No vendor contributions are accepted. Second, The Burton Group is investing a great deal of effort before the conference to ensure that it is not just another opportunity for vendors to repeat their marketing pitches.

"Every networking vendor is in the middle of a significant transition, bringing out new products to meet the rapidly evolving needs of users," says Craig Burton, principal of The Burton Group. "We're hosting BG95 because in such transition periods, it's critical for leading users and vendors of networking technology to clearly communicate, outside of the harried atmosphere of a trade show or hype-ridden vendor events. At BG95, customers and developers will have direct access to the decision makers in today's leading networking companies."

Each of the three days of BG95 is devoted to a particular issue. While the final agenda has yet to be set, topics under consideration include desktop management and the future of the Desktop Management Interface (DMI (Desktop Management Interface) The first desktop management standard from the DMTF.
