It is found in almost every electronic product from handheld devices to mainframes.  (CBC (1) (Cell Broadcast Center) See cell broadcast.

) process technology which is optimally suited for high-speed communications applications. This industry-leading process merges uncompromised analog signal processing Analog signal processing is any signal processing conducted on analog signals by analog means. "Analog" indicates something that is mathematically represented as a set of continuous values. This differs from "digital" which uses a series of discrete quantities to represent signal.  with a high level of mixed-signal integration.

Syrus P. Madavi, chairman, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Burr-Brown, stated, "This new CBC process will significantly strengthen our market presence in high growth communications applications such as DSL, cable modems, base station receivers, and fiber optics. In addition, expanding our in-house wafer fabrication capabilities will allow Burr-Brown to offer application-specific solutions to our customers in a very responsive manner."

CBC is a flexible, high performance mixed-signal process that uses a modular approach to meet the demands of specific applications while minimizing cost and improving design flexibility. This integrated process is superior to the typical industry approach of merely "adding-on" capabilities to existing core processes. CBC offers a wide range of active and passive devices with premium performance characteristics. Starting with a core capability of complementary high-speed bipolar devices, the process offers Schottky diodes, JFET See FET.

transistors, and submicron CMOS as option modules. The high performance passive devices offered by CBC include trimmable thin-film resistors and precision capacitors.

The modular and cost-effective nature of CBC will provide access to many high volume applications and will extend Burr-Brown's HDSL, HDSL2, ADSL, and ADSL G.Lite communications interface products. In addition to high-speed communications, CBC will bring improved performance and functionality to the Company's other high-volume product lines.
