134 and DRV135 differential line (hardware) differential line - A kind of electrical connection using two wires, one of which carries the normal signal (V) and the other carries an inverted version the signal (-V).  drivers fully specified for professional audio equipment such as mixing consoles, effects processors, and broadcast consoles.

Within an audio system, the DRV134 and DRV135 convert a single-ended input to a balanced output pair allowing accurate signal transmission between audio equipment within a studio environment without being effected by ambient electrical noise. Protecting sound integrity in a recording studio is critical to accurate sound reproduction.

These balanced output audio drivers consist of high performance op amps with on-chip precision resistors and feature excellent ac specifications, including low distortion, low noise, and high slew rate (1) How fast paper moves through a printer (ips).

"The DRV134 and DRV135 line drivers enhance our product offerings targeted to professional audio systems," said John Brown, strategic marketing engineer at Burr-Brown. "Used in combination with our recently introduced INA Ina (ē`nä), city (1990 pop. 60,062), Nagano prefecture, central Honshu, Japan, on the Tenryu River. It is an agricultural and industrial center with a famous agricultural school. 134 and INA137 differential receivers, they offer a complete solution for transmitting analog audio signals without degradation. This chip set also finds a home in industrial and instrumentation systems for easily transferring linear signals through electrically hostile areas."

Frost and Sullivan, the market for professional audio and video studio equipment will surpass revenues of over $1.3 billion by the year 2000. In addition, the market is projected to grow 13% annually over the next four years.

The on-chip resistors are laser-trimmed for accurate gain and optimum output common-mode rejection. Wide output voltage swing and high output drive capability allow use in a wide variety of environments demanding audio performance and recording. The devices easily drive the large capacitive loads associated with long audio cables.

The DRV134 and DRV135 feature low distortion (0.0005% at f = 1kHz), high slew rate (12V/micro-second), wide output swing (17Vrms into 600 ohms), high capacitive load drive, wide supply range (+/-4.5V to +/-18V), and low quiescent current (+/-5.2mA).

The DRV134 is packaged in 8-pin DIP and SOL-16 surface-mount packages, which are exact pin-for-pin enhanced performance offerings to an existing component in the marketplace. The DRV135 is the same chip housed in an SO-8 surface-mount package, providing dramatic space savings for modern high density audio systems. Both are priced from $1.80 in 1,000 piece quantities, with aggressive pricing in volume. Delivery is from stock.
