, Calif. -- Magnetic Recording Solutions, Inc. today launched the MRS MRS - Modifiable Representation System.

An integration of logic programming into Lisp.

["A Modifiable Representation System", M. Genesereth et al, HPP 80-22, CS Dept Stanford U 1980].
3000/3100-GT burnish-glide test system, offering the best price/performance ratio In economics and engineering, the price/performance ratio refers to a product's ability to deliver performance, of any sort, for its price. For instance, if you have a whole day to travel 100 km, spending $50 to do the journey in two hours is a better price/performance ratio than  in the disk drive industry for burnish and glide testing of rigid magnetic recording media.  platform, the GT offers advanced testing capabilities and simplicity of operation, combined with a 25% throughput advantage over competing burnish and glide test systems.

The system includes both PZT PZT Lead Zirconate Titanate (piezoelectric ceramic material)
PZT Piezoelectric Transducer
PZT Photographic Zenith Tube
PZT Point Zone Telephone
and AE test modes, plus two 4 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  detection channels for each disk surface. Disk sizes supported are 22-95 mm diameters for the 3000-GT and 22-65 mm diameters for the 3100-GT. With its economic advantages and advanced test capabilities, the MRS3000/3100-GT enables customers to significantly improve their productivity in day-to-day volume production for the most advanced media testing applications.

"Our design philosophy from the onset was to develop a full-function magnetic media test system -- the MRS3000 -- that would incorporate burnish and glide testing with leading edge PMR media certification," said Vlad Pogrebinsky, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Magnetic Recording Solutions, Inc. "The new MRS3000/3100-GT burnish and glide tester is a modified version of the MRS3000 platform that customers can upgrade easily in the future when they need to add PMR media certification capability."

"We designed the GT to give test engineers faster access to the critical decision making data they need to achieve higher production yield; we also wanted them to have greater testing flexibly," Pogrebinsky continued. "The high speed positioners and electronics of the GT are optimized for real-time data Real-time data denotes information that is delivered immediately after collection. There is no delay in the timeliness of the information provided.

Some uses of this term confuse it with the term dynamic data.
collection specified by pre-programmed process test parameters. With two 4 MHz detection channels per disk surface, test engineers can gather more data, faster, and setup simultaneous process-specific glide tests. Each of the four independent channels has self-calibration software giving the engineer a fast and accurate method of adjusting either output gain or flight height."

Introduction of the MRS3000/3100-GT comes at a time when the industry is searching for low cost solutions that will enable them to expand capacity for media production testing. The GT system provides the best price/performance ratio available and offers customers a future upgrade path to full PMR/LMR magnetic certification. The MRS3000-GT is available immediately, and the MRS3100-GT will be shipping in Q2, 2007.
