Burger King Corporation Standardizes On EMC Network Storage; EMC CLARiiON and Symmetrix Networked Storage To Enhance Satisfaction of 12 Million Daily Customers Worldwide.

EMC Corporation announced today that Burger King Corporation is standardizing on EMC Symmetrix and CLARiiON networked storage to make sales information more readily available for a new global business intelligence initiative aimed at enhancing satisfaction for the 12 million customers who visit Burger King every day.

Miami-based Burger King Corporation selected an EMC enterprise storage area network (SAN) based on EMC Symmetrix Enterprise Storage, EMC CLARiiON 4700 and Connectrix fibre-channel switches.

Burger King uses a broad range EMC software to further improve up-time and manageability of its Symmetrix and CLARiiON-based SANs. Burger King's EMC software solutions include ControlCenter, ESN Manager, TimeFinder, Access Logix, Navisphere and SnapView.

According to Sanchez, EMC software-driven information availability improvements are driving down costs and further improving our data collection and maintenance windows.

"These savings will become more critical as we create a global repository of data about sales transactions, speed of service and quality for every Burger King(R) restaurant," said Sanchez.

EMC Global Services is working with Burger King Corporation to implement and maintain its information storage infrastructure. "Our team of EMC customer support specialists, engineers, project managers, and sales representatives work with us to brainstorm, design and implement strategic storage solutions," said Sanchez.
