Bureaucratic nonsense; yourLETTERS.WE were upset at the article regarding the probable enforced closure of supermarkets which are now newly owned by the Co-op. We can, maybe, understand that it is not practical to have two Co-op supermarkets in one town, but what we cannot understand, is why both Menai Bridge For the bridges across the Menai Strait, see and Britannia Bridge. Menai Bridge (Welsh: Porthaethwy) is a town on the island of Anglesey in Wales. and Llanfairpwll will be targeted. Neither Menai Bridge or Llanfairpwll have any other village supermarkets, so the loss of either shop to 150 would cause problems for the village residents, some of whom are elderly, and non drivers. Surely if one of these two small supermarkets was forced to close, due to bureaucracy, it could leave either village with no supermarket, more unemployed, and yet another unsightly un·sight·ly adj. un·sight·li·er, un·sight·li·est Unpleasant or offensive to look at; unattractive.
