Bunge has received several awards for safe operations at its facilities. In March of this year the Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS GEAPS Grain Elevator And Processing Society (formerly Society of Grain Elevator Superintendents) ) recognized the safety performance of Bunge North America by awarding seven out of eight of GEAPS's first-ever "Long-Term Commitment" Awards for safety to Bunge. In addition, Bunge North America's safety record was highlighted in two current articles ("A Commitment to Safety," World Grain (June 2001); Milling and Baking News (July 17, 2001)). Bunge also actively participates in a variety of environmental and safety related organizations, including serving as a member of the National Safety Council for over 25 years.
