Bundeswehr to wear Caracal.

Rheinmetall Landsysteme has agreed to work with Iveco Magirus on wheeled armoured vehicles in the six to eight-tonne class for the German market. Rheinmetall has recently obtained the German rights to Iveco's newly developed Light Modular Vehicle, and will be responsible for adapting it for the Bundeswehr. The new vehicle will be marketed under the name Caracal, after the Afro-Asian cat known as the Desert Lynx. The Caracal is an all-terrain four-wheel drive vehicle with independent suspension and offers modular ballistic and anti-mine protection.
