Bull and CryptoGram, Both Leaders in Security, Sign Worldwide OEM Distribution Agreement.

PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 16, 1999--

Agreement Means Users Can Protect the Most

Sensitive Data Saved On Their PCs

French security software company CryptoGram and Bull Smart Cards Example of widely used contactless smart cards are Hong Kong's Octopus card, Paris' Calypso/Navigo card and Lisbon' LisboaViva card, which predate the ISO/IEC 14443 standard. The following tables list smart cards used for public transportation and other electronic purse applications.  & Terminals today announced the conclusion of an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  agreement that will make it possible for organizations to protect files and data recorded on their PCs. This protection is ensured by dynamic data encryption data encryption, the process of scrambling stored or transmitted information so that it is unintelligible until it is unscrambled by the intended recipient. Historically, data encryption has been used primarily to protect diplomatic and military secrets from foreign  using secret keys.

Furthermore, recipients can read encrypted messages even if they do not have SATIS-Crypt. The sender simply sends a self-decrypting message and a password, by some other means of transmission, to the recipient.

Depending on the level of security required by the customer, SATIS-Crypt is available in two versions:

-- Software version only, in which data is accessed by entering a secret code using the keyboard

-- Or, for complete security, "smart card" version, i.e. software plus a set of two microprocessor cards (the second used as a backup) and a PC/SC reader. Data is accessed by inserting the smart card in a reader connected to a PC and then entering a secret code. SATIS-Crypt uses the latest standards in terms of cryptography (i.e. PKCS (Public Key Cryptography Standards) Specifications from RSA Laboratories for various techniques used with RSA public key cryptography. With cooperation from security experts worldwide, PKCS #1 covers the RSA standard itself. #11).

Integration in the SmartSite Solution

Reasonably priced (less than FF1,300 per person), SATIS-Crypt can be the first means of security installed in any company wanting to protect both physical and logical property, since it is part of the modular Bull's SmartSite solution, intended to reinforce physical and logical security in organizations.

Announced in October 1998, SmartSite is used to increase company security on a step by step basis using a single microprocessor for identification, physical/logical access control and electronic purse purposes.

"This agreement is a perfect illustration of our strategy of making the user benefit from all the security offered by the microprocessor card," said David Levy David Levy may refer to:

We are delighted with this agreement with CryptoGram, a company that knows how to integrate all the latest technologies in terms of ease of use and security into encryption The reversible transformation of data from the original (the plaintext) to a difficult-to-interpret format (the ciphertext) as a mechanism for protecting its confidentiality, integrity and sometimes its authenticity. "We are very pleased with the success achieved by our automatic encryption solutions, and wanted to increase our figures by collaborating with one of the world's leaders in the field of logical security", added Philippe Bourel, manager of CryptoGram.
