Bull Announces the New SafePad for Secure Financial Transactions; SafePad, the Programmable, Scalable Card Reader, Simplifies Electronic Commerce and Home Banking.

PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 27, 1998--At the "Cartes'98" exhibition, Bull announced SafePad, a new programmable, microprocessor card reader for businesses and organizations who wish to secure their financial transactions in electronic commerce and home banking applications.

The size of a mouse, SafePad has a built-in keyboard and screen, enabling users to enter their personal code, validated inside the reader itself. This cuts out the need to transmit the code to the keyboard or the network, both non-secured interfaces. With SafePad, purchases can be paid for on-line in complete security.
