Bulk powder feeder comes in new versions.

Two new models have been added to the line of Bulk Solids Pump (BSP) feeders from K-Tron Process Group, Pitman, N.J. BSP feeders for dry solids do not use augers, belts, or vibratory trays. Instead, they use one or more vertical rotating discs that create parallel feeding ducts said to provide positive displacement and linear mass flow, as well as quick cleanout.

One new model is the BSP-135. Made of aluminum, it has three feeding ducts and replaces the BSP-125, which had two ducts. The new model raises the feeding capacity to 155 f[t.sup.3]/hr. Also new is the BSP-150-P, which has five feeding ducts and throughput up to 318 f[t.sup.3]/hr, vs. 237 f[t.sup.3]/hr for the existing BSP-150-S, which has four feeding ducts. The "P" version is also lower cost, because it has a plastic body and DC motor in place of stainless steel and a stepper motor.

K-Tran also launched a new line of feeder controls. The KCM (K-Tron Control Module) is said to harmonize the full functionality of the two previous levels of Smart Connex controls into a single new housing, offering more flexibility and better performance. The KCM integrates the control and motor drive modules directly on the feeder. Also new is a multiple-feeder/single-line operator interface for the KCM, called K-Vision, which includes a quad screen feature.
