The Type 3 bulk bag discharger, a European-engineered design, places sensitive loss-in-weight load cells between the top bag holding frame and the lower chute assembly. Competing loss-in-weight dischargers often locate the load cells directly on the floor, where they can easily be damaged by dirt and forklift collisions, according to the company. The Type 3 discharger is also available with patented "Y" yoke bar bag spout closures, bag stretching arms and pneumatic bag massagers. The bag stretching arms lengthen and keep the bag tensioned as more powder is discharged. The lengthening is said to reduce residual powder, thus reducing waste.
