 Association of New Jersey (BCANJ), thousands of high school students throughout the state are learning about career opportunities they may never have known existed.

BCANJ is a member of the New Jersey State Building and Construction Trades Labor Management Council (LMC LMC Large Magellanic Cloud (also see SMC)

), the state's leading non-profit organization A non-profit organization (abbreviated "NPO", also "non-profit" or "not-for-profit") is a legally constituted organization whose primary objective is to support or to actively engage in activities of public or private interest without any commercial or monetary profit purposes.  dedicated to improving the quality of construction projects in New Jersey by promoting cooperation between skilled workers, contractor management and developers.

Funded by a grant from the New Jersey Department of Labor, BCANJ has designed an educational programming guide, entitled en·ti·tle  
tr.v. en·ti·tled, en·ti·tling, en·ti·tles

2. To furnish with a right or claim to something:
 Construction: It's a Great Fit, and distributed it to high school guidance counselors guidance counselor Child psychology A school worker trained to screen, evaluate and advise students on career and academic matters  and principals throughout the state.

The guide provides relevant career data about the general construction trades, including descriptions of each trade; salary and benefit data; an explanation of apprenticeship requirements; and career opportunities.

A School Counselor A school counselor is a counselor and educator who works in schools, and have historically been referred to as "guidance counselors" or "educational counselors," although "Professional School Counselor" is now the preferred term.  Resource Manual provides guidance counselors information to help guide students in their career choices and assist them in identifying students who are candidates for this profession.

The program has been so successful that BCANJ has recently received an extension of their Department of Labor grant.
