COCA-COLA'S commitment to develop sport in Wales The most popular sports in Wales are football and rugby union. Wales, like other constituent nations of the UK, enjoys independent representation in major world sporting events such as the FIFA World Cup, Rugby World Cup and in the Commonwealth Games (however as Great Britain in the  continues to cross boundaries at all levels and abilities.

 Wales & West region has committed to supporting rugby from the higher echelons of international sponsorship of the Welsh Rugby Union The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) (Welsh: Undeb Rygbi Cymru) is the governing body of rugby union in Wales, recognised by the International Rugby Board.  team through to the grass roots development of the sport.

The grass roots development of rugby is being delivered through Coca-Cola's partnership with the Dragons Rugby Trust programme, the main focus for this being the Coca-Cola Player Outreach Programme.

The programme consists of 50 schools throughout Wales being chosen to participate in a day's training with an international player.

The days involve pupils of differing levels of abilities and ages, learning how to enhance their skills from the experience of world class players.

The scheme was launched last autumn and has already become an integral part of CocaCola's grass roots development programme for schools in Wales The following is a partial list of currently operating schools in Wales, United Kingdom. Tim Green, sponsorship manager for Coca-Cola GB, said: "The coaching clinics worked extremely well last year, complementing the already high standards of rugby coaching in schools in Wales.

"Coca-Cola and the Dragons Rugby Trust have been able to offer the chance for school teams to benefit from the experience and skills of top welsh stars such as Nathan Budgett, Rob Howley and Rhys Williams."
