Building Materials Holding Corporation Acquires Marvin Windows Planning Centers.

Building Materials Holding Corporation (Nasdaq:BMHC), a leading provider of building materials and services to professional contractors and builders, today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary BMC West Corporation acquired Marvin Windows Planning Centers, the wood window distribution division of Frontier Wholesale, Inc., which had 1999 sales of approximately $15 million.

Under the terms of the acquisition, the manufacturer Marvin Windows and Doors has appointed BMC West as the exclusive distributor of its wood window product lines in Texas (excluding El Paso), Oklahoma, Arizona, northwestern Louisiana and Las Vegas, Nevada.

The existing dedicated wood window sales personnel in BMC West's SouthCentral division will be transferred to Marvin Windows Planning Centers. The management and sales personnel of Marvin Windows Planning Centers will remain with the company as part of BMC West's SouthCentral division.
