Martin Bennett, a coach who works with Athletic's under-11s, approached Barratt when the club needed to find new sponsorship for the year ahead.

The housebuilder, which is currently building two new developments in Bridgend, was only too happy to help support a community club that encourages children of all abilities to get involved with a team sport.

"We rely entirely on sponsorship to keep the team running," said Bennett.

"We approached Barratt because it is a well respected housebuilder which is also building locally.

"The new kits cost pounds 1,000 so we were delighted when Barratt agreed to pay for them.

"The new design kit is fantastic and the children feel very professional when they're playing matches."
