Builder seeks refinancing; IN ASSOCIATION WITH Rensburg Sheppards.


HOUSEBUILDER Taylor Wimpey Taylor Wimpey plc (LSE: TW.) (formerly Taylor Woodrow plc) is the largest British based house building and general construction company and the fifth largest in the world. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index.  warned of further losses due to tumbling land values as it struggled in "very challenging" markets.

The firm, which wrote off pounds 586m in the summer, said it would need to make "further provisions" in the absence of any improvement in the UK.

Taylor Wimpey has taken action to reduce debts to pounds 1.55bn - including shedding 1,400 jobs in 2008.
