AN employee of a Teesside civil engineering firm has become the first in the country to receive Considerate con·sid·er·ate  
adj.

As a preferred supplier to the Ministry of Justice, Henderson Campbell has been involved in the construction or extension of secure units all over the UK for the past 15 years.

MD Antony Henderson believes very firmly in the benefits of employing staff rather than using contractors, and regularly training them in all aspects of construction and site working.

This has now paid off with site manager, Brian (Jock) Paterson having been presented with a Bronze certificate in the 2009 Considerate Contractors awards - a national scheme created to improve the image of the industry.

Mr Paterson, left, who has worked for Henderson Campbell for 13 years, attended a ceremony at The Gibson Hall in London to collect his certificate.

He was in charge of the site at HMP HMP - hybrid multiprocessing  Stocken where Henderson Campbell has been involved with the development of two new accommodation units plus a workshop, gymnasium, kitchen and storage building and the refurbishment re·fur·bish

Said Antony Henderson: "We do run a very tight ship on our sites and I am confident that other ongoing projects in our portfolio operate to a similar high standard as the Stocken one highlighted by the inspectors.

"Hopefully it will give our clients even more confidence in the high standard that we produce at all levels of our operation."
