Builder's group boosts coffers of preservation conervancy.


The recently created Staten Island Staten Island (1990 pop. 378,977), 59 sq mi (160 sq km), SE N.Y., in New York Bay, SW of Manhattan, forming Richmond co. of New York state and the borough of Staten Island of New York City.  Community Preservation Conservancy received its first donation from Waterside Associates, LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.

The $200,000 gift from the founder of the Leewood Real Estate Group will allow the non-profit organization A non-profit organization (abbreviated "NPO", also "non-profit" or "not-for-profit") is a legally constituted organization whose primary objective is to support or to actively engage in activities of public or private interest without any commercial or monetary profit purposes.  to work towards the preservation of environmentally sensitive and unique properties.

Staten Island Borough President Borough President (informally BP, or Beep in slang) is an elective office in each of the five boroughs of New York City.

The offices of borough president were created in 1898 with the formation of the City of Greater New York.
 James Molinaro created the Staten Island Community Preservation Conservancy in order to protect property throughout the borough. The non-profit organization offers an alternative to selling private property to developers and will instead purchase the land or conservation easements EASEMENTS, estates. An easement is defined to be a liberty privilege or advantage, which one man may have in the lands of another, without profit; it may arise by deed or prescription. "With available real estate at a premium, it is critically important to protect the important sites from development. The Conservancy is offering an invaluable service to the Staten Island community," said Lee.

The donation was part of the proceeds from the state's recent purchase of a large parcel of environmentally sensitive land in Butler Manor on Staten Island's South Shore, from Lee and eight other investors in Waterside Associates, LLC. *
