National Integration Provides Leading Distributor with Supply Chain Efficiencies, Contractors with Online Access to an Unparalleled

Line of Products and Services

BuildPoint Corporation, the leading e-commerce company for the construction industry, today announced the successful integration of the WESCO WESCO West Coast Shoe Company (manufacturer of motorcycle boots)
WESCO Westinghouse Electric Supply Company
Distribution's Order Management System, WESCOM, with BuildPoint's online transactional catalog. As a result of this integration effort, orders placed by the BuildPoint community of contractors can be integrated directly into the WESCO order management system, providing WESCO with an additional online system for managing contractor orders more efficiently.

Using the online BuildPoint catalog for the direct purchase of construction materials, registered contractors will be able to easily identify and price WESCO's electrical supplies and initiate orders over the web. Orders will then be integrated automatically into WESCO's order management system, reducing processing time and errors, while improving service to job sites.

BuildPoint will be working with WESCO branches nationwide to create appropriate custom construction market catalogs available through the BuildPoint transactional catalog. By working with WESCO on a national basis, BuildPoint will provide contractors with instant access to the most comprehensive inventory of electrical equipment A piece of electrical equipment is a machine, powered by electricity and usually consists of an enclosure, a variety of electrical components and often a power switch. "Having already successfully implemented in-house e-commerce solutions for our construction business, WESCO looked to BuildPoint to deliver another e-commerce solution that also meets specific needs of our contractor customers and can help them realize the benefits of e-commerce today. This integration was possible because of BuildPoint's expertise in developing specialized procurement platforms for the construction industry."

WESCO Joins SupplyPoint(SM)

WESCO has also joined BuildPoint's SupplyPoint Program, an online sales program that allows suppliers to directly position their products to BuildPoint's growing community of contractors.

"The addition of WESCO to the SupplyPoint Program demonstrates the value of BuildPoint's online community of more than 38,000 companies to national distributors," said Stephen Smith, vice president of sales at BuildPoint. "By joining BuildPoint's growing community of suppliers, WESCO and BuildPoint together are in a stronger position to meet the needs of electrical contractors located anywhere in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America.
