Build-a-Bear Workshop Invites Guests to Stuff 5,000 Teddy Bears with Hugs for Kids in Need.

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 6, 2003

On Saturday 11/8 and Sunday 11/9, over 5,000 teddy bears will be stuffed with hope and good wishes in Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  Build-A-Bear Workshop Build-A-Bear Workshop (NYSE: BBW) is an American retailer that sells customizable teddy bears and other stuffed animals. Build-A-Bear is the largest of the create-your-own animal chains with the other companies in the business consisting of regional and/or locally-owned (R) stores. The bears will be given to children who have lost their homes or are displaced due to the recent wildfires. Guests are invited to make the special Stuffed With Hugs(TM) teddy bears for free which are then being donated and distributed through relief centers in the area. Members of Kids With A Cause Inc., a group of young stars from the entertainment industry will participate in the events in select stores by helping to make the first Stuffed With Hugs bears on Saturday, 11/8 at 10 a.m.

Workshop stores on Saturday, November 8 beginning at 10 a.m.,

continuing throughout the day and again on Sunday November 9

during regular mall hours.

Build-A-Bear Workshop, Chief Executive Bear Maxine Clark commented on the effort saying, "All over southern California there are families who have been forced out of their homes due to the fires and many have lost everything they own. We want to help these families in need. With the help of our Guests and friends from Kids With A Cause, we can send them friendship, love and hugs!"

   The Shops at Mission Viejo - Mission Viejo

   Fashion Valley Mall - San Diego

   Ontario Mills - Ontario

   The Oaks - Thousand Oaks

   Hollywood and Highland - Hollywood

   Glendale Galleria - Glendale

   Westside Pavilion Shopping Center - Los Angeles
