Bugs.

Bugs
by Ericka Northrop

   Bugs are little;
   Bugs are wiggly.
   Bugs can tickle
   Till you're giggly!

   Bugs seem bigger
   (What a fright!)
   In the middle
   Of the night.

   Bugs can fly,
   And some can run.
   Bugs have
   An exoskeleton. *

   Some bugs jump
   And make loud noise.
   Other bugs show
   Much more poise.

   Some bugs make
   Their tummies glow.
   (How they do that,
   I don't know!)

   Bugs have mighty
   Jaws for chewing;
   Bugs do what
   Bugs should be doing!

* Scientists call bugs' hard outer shell an exoskeleton (EX-oh-skel-uh-ton), which just means: skeleton on the outside.
