Buffers near salmon streams remain in effect.

The court case, which has been going on for three years, affects streams in Oregon, Washington and California.

The buffers, put in place by Federal District Court Judge John Coughenour in January, had been challenged by CropLife America and other parties, who sought to scrap the requirement until the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), independent agency of the U.S. government, with headquarters in Washington, D.C. It was established in 1970 to reduce and control air and water pollution, noise pollution, and radiation and to ensure the safe handling and  adopts guidelines to protect endangered species endangered species, any plant or animal species whose ability to survive and reproduce has been jeopardized by human activities.
