Based on the Broadcom(R) AirForce(TM) chipset, the 54Mbps WLI-CB-G54A Wireless Notebook Adapter offers wireless connectivity with any Type II or Type III cardbus ready PC notebook. The WLI-CB-G54A boasts an external 2.4Ghz antenna-ready feature for longer range and faster speed. The card supports 64/128-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) An IEEE standard security protocol for wireless 802.11 networks. Introduced in 1997, WEP was found to be very inadequate and was superseded by WPA, WPA2 and 802.11i.  and a physical security lock to prevent theft.
