Deployment at New York's HSBC Arena Includes Contact Center Solution;

Provides More Effective Call Handling and Increased Reliability

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- ShoreTel, a leading provider of IP telephony solutions worldwide, today announced that the National Hockey League's Buffalo Sabres have chosen ShoreTel's IP PBX system for deployment throughout the HSBC Arena. The Sabres' new phone system will include the recent release of ShoreTel Contact Center 4.6, an integrated suite of contact center applications running on the ShoreTel distributed IP communications platform. By combining built-in redundancy and a "single-image" architecture, the ShoreTel design provides the Sabres executives and arena staff an attractive return on investment, while end users benefit from simplified point-and-click access to productivity-enhancing applications.

The Buffalo Sabres evaluated a number of major vendors and selected ShoreTel and partner, PremCom, for the project. The ShoreTel award-winning IP telephony system was chosen for its ease-of-use and installation, flexibility in call handling and low total cost of ownership. A key factor in choosing ShoreTel was the level of increased reliability provided by its single-image, distributed architecture. ShoreTel's sophisticated architecture embraces a switch-based model that distributes intelligence throughout the network, as opposed to alternative server-centric or modified legacy PBX approaches. As a result, the ShoreTel system is more cost-effective and more reliable.

The Buffalo Sabres will deploy 19 ShoreTel switches and 680 ShoreTel IP PBX phones for more than 530 users throughout HSBC Arena. ShoreTel Contact Center will provide enterprise resource matching of calls based on customer and agent profiles, advanced real-time management and historical measurement tools. The HSBC Arena is also the home of the Buffalo Bandits Lacrosse team and hosts many local events each year. The new telephony system will be accessible within the Arena locker rooms, luxury suites, concession stands and offices throughout the facility.
