The LACC hosts annual events such as the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show, and was best known to video games fans as host to E3 until its cessation in 2006.  on May 14 to 16 was a bit of a coming out party for Buena Vista Games as the company unveiled new games for the fledgling brand.

"We're very excited about the possibilities out there," said Graham Hopper, senior vice president and general manager for the three-month-old company, a unit of the Walt Disney Noun 1. Created as a response to the growing adult video game market, Buena Vista Games hopes to cash in on Disney's long list of properties and develop high-end games with near film-quality production values Production values is a media term for "production cost." It refers to the professional look, or "polish," of a production. Factors that affect perceived production value may include video and audio quality, lighting, number of errors, and amount and quality of special effects. .

Disney has had some success with its existing Disney Interactive unit, which will continue to make games for children, but Hopper is banking on Buena Vista to make a big splash Big Splash could refer to:

  • The Big Splash (book), (1990) by Louis A. Frank and Patrick Huyghe
with consumers judging by buyers' response to the games, Hopper said.

"We've gotten great response to Tron 2.0 by people who probably never saw the original movie," he said of the new game based on the 1982 film about humans caught up inside a futuristic video game.

By gathering the original cinematographer and set designer of the film along with Rebecca Romijn-Stamos and original star Bruce Boxleitner Bruce Boxleitner (born May 12, 1950 in Elgin, Illinois) is an American actor.

He is best known for his leading roles in the television series How the West Was Won, Scarecrow and Mrs.
, who provided voice for his character, Tron is Buena Vista's flagship game when it's released on Aug. 26.

"It's a great start for us because it's been really 10 years in the making and because of technological issues we weren't able to put it all together until now," Hopper said.

Meanwhile, Buena Vista is readying games for the popular cable TV series "Lizzie McGuire," "Kim Possible: Revenge of Monkey Fist," and "Brother Bear," among others.

An estimated 60,000 people gathered at the annual E3 convention to sample some of the newest games developed by game makers.
