Budgethotels began a ground up re-engineering of their online hotel reservation booking site over 1 year ago. The major changes were completed in the late fall of 2002. Since December of 2002 the site has seen traffic (as measured by total hits and total visits per month) increase 178% and 198% respectively. "This is very encouraging," said Marshall, "we are about to embark upon new marketing initiatives for our web reservation system as well as a major push toward cross promotion; but those efforts have not even begun yet.
