BWI's new program supports the industry's new environmentally sustainable initiatives, such as the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, provides a suite of standards for environmentally sustainable construction.  (LEED) certification, GreenBuilt and GoGreen programs. To date, BWI has diverted more than 6,309 tons of C&D debris from landfills through its various initiatives.
