Budding bosses are holding fire.BUDDING budding, type of grafting in which a plant bud is inserted under the bark of the stock (usually not more than a year old). It is best done when the bark will peel easily and the buds are mature, as in spring, late summer, or early autumn. Birmingham entrepreneurs are putting off going into business because of the recession, a new study has revealed. More than half of aspiring as·pire intr.v. as·pired, as·pir·ing, as·pires 1. A survey of 1,720 people aged 18 to 30 found that two-thirds of young people in Birmingham believe the Government could reduce youth unemployment by providing clearer routes for younger people into self-employment. This could include more start-up advice at job centres and better careers advice while at school or college. The survey also showed that about 15 per cent of people have had a business idea but are holding off until the end of the recession to give it their best shot. Prince's Trust regional director Kathy Williams said the economy needed young people to provide "input and inspirat ion". She said: "It is fantastic that so many young people are having ideas. "Now it is vital we provide these entrepreneurs with the support they need to make their businesses work." |
