Bud sponsoring rock/country tour

Country music star Hank Williams, Jr., and singers Patty Loveless and Doug Stone will star in one of the largest concert tours planned for 1992 - the 50-city Budweiser Rock 'N Country tour. August Busch IV, director of Budweiser brand marketing, announced the event.

The tour is a result of several very successful Bud-sponsored concerts featuring Williams, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, the Kentucky Headhunters, the Judds, Sawyer Brown and other artists last summer.

"Those concerts were so outstanding and so well received by adult music fans that we decided to model a mega-tour after those shows," Busch said. In addition to Williams, Loveless and Stone, some of the concerts also will include a fourth act by other famous country artists, whose names will be announced during the tour.

The Bud Rock 'N Country Tour, which will hit over 20 states, will get underway February 28 at Memphis' Pyramid theater, and will run through October.

"Just like Hank, Patty, Doug and other top artists today, country music with rock influences is |hot' among contemporary adults," Busch said. "The Budweiser Rock 'N Country tour, which will play to about one million fans across the country, is a perfect complement to our other Budweiser concert and entertainment-related programs."
