The Chicago venue of Tony Hawk's Boom Boom Huck Jam Tour was cancelled due to poor ticket sales. Otherwise, the events on schedule went off with a high degree of precision entertainment. Out of control eBay professional autograph seekers at times hounded, harassed and harangued tour leader Hawk to the extent that Tony had to sneak his way to the airport in Washington State just to escape them.

The Fifty-Fifty Exhibition opened in NYC at the Powerhouse Gallery on Charlton Street. All of the work created by a combine of over 35 artists will be auctioned off to benefit Adaptive Action Sports. Custom skateboard decks and one-off related handbags were done for the event by the likes of Chris Pastras, AHNIL, Amir Fallah, Steve Caballero, Freddi Cerasoli, Saiman Chow, Nate Crane, Shepard Fairey, David Flores, Sam Flores, Os Gemeos, Mike Giant, Maya Hayuk, Dustin Amery Hostetler, Caroline Hwang, Matt Irving, Rich Jacobs, Jason Lee, Wes Martin, Barry McGee, Michiko, Tes One, Persue, Clint Peterson, Ryan Riss, Michael Sieben, Farah Siozon, Spazmat, Austin Spencer, Rachell Sumpter, Ben Tour, Trent Wantanabe, Ruvan Wijesooriya, Klutch and Craig Dransfield.

Copious amounts of sponsored liquid refreshment distinguished the Big Island opening of the Landslide Photo Show. The opening melee benefited the Big Island Skateboard Association skate-park fund. Such artists as Josie Perez, Moblow, Jerry Hsu, Scott Pommier, Joe Brook and Gabe Morford included quality photographic pieces.

The exodus of artistic industrial types to the Pacific Northwest continues with Bryce Kanights joining the ranks in Portland, Oregon. Veteran lensman Bill Parr astounded all recently when he fled his family's D Bar Ranch in Malibu and showed up in Seattle. Not only did BP leave the legendary Serra Retreat pool behind, but he was also soon spotted with such heavies as attorney Mike Courtenage, who is said to be a principal advisor to Bill Gates the major Microsoft man. Following B Parr's departure, Brody and Bradley Jenner, who were advertised as being the "skating-surfing-singing stars of Fox TV's reality show the Princes of Malibu," also fled their 22-acre funplex leaving the area a few skate spots shorter.
