Jeffery T. Cook was elected Senior Vice President, Product and Market Development. Mr. Cook graduated from Vanderbilt University Vanderbilt University, at Nashville, Tenn.; coeducational; chartered 1872 as Central Univ. of Methodist Episcopal Church, founded and renamed 1873, opened 1875 through a gift from Cornelius Vanderbilt. Until 1914 it operated under the auspices of the Methodist Church. with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1983. He began his career with Buckeye, which was then a division of Procter & Gamble, in 1984. Mr. Cook spent much of his early career working on consumer products with Procter & Gamble and returned to Buckeye in 1998. He became Vice President, Product Development-New Fibers in 1999 and assumed his current position as head of the Company's Product and Market Development organization in July 2003. Mr. Douglas L. Dowdell was elected Senior Vice President, Nonwovens. Mr. Dowdell graduated from Auburn University Auburn University, main campus at Auburn, Ala.; land-grant and state supported; opened 1859 as East Alabama Male College, reorganized 1872 as the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama; became coeducational 1892; renamed Alabama Polytechnic Institute 1899, with a degree in Forestry in 1980. For eight years Mr. Dowdell managed Timberland in the Southeastern U.S. for Champion International. He began his career with Buckeye's wood pulp wood pulp: see paper. operations at Perry, Florida in 1988. He relocated to the Memphis Headquarters in 1996 in a New Business Development role. Mr. Dowdell was elected a Corporate Vice President in 2000 and has extensive management experience in both our Wood and Nonwovens businesses.
