) today announced the retirement of Dr. B. Jerry L. Huff, Senior Vice President, Research and Development, effective June 30, 2001 after 40 years of service.

Dr. Huff began his career with Buckeye after completing his undergraduate education undergraduate education Medtalk In the US, a 4+ yr college or university education leading to a baccalaureate degree, the minimum education level required for medical school admission; undergraduate medical education refers to the 4 yrs of medical school. After a leave of absence, he completed his doctorate at Georgia Institute of Technology Georgia Institute of Technology, in Atlanta, Ga.; coeducational; state supported; chartered 1885, opened 1888. It is a member school in the university system of Georgia. Significant among its facilities and programs are the Frank H.  in 1968 and returned to the Company. Dr. Huff has headed Buckeye's Research and Development organization since it became an independent company in 1993 and was promoted to his current position in July 1997.

Dr. Huff has made an extraordinary contribution to Buckeye's technological competence. His research and development experience in the areas of polymer chemistry and fiber science has been instrumental in the creation of many of Buckeye's product innovations. Dr. Huff's leadership, knowledge and personal example have enabled Buckeye to build a scientific base that is the foundation of the Company's success.
