Buca di Beppo Donates Nearly $16,000 to Assist Hurricane Recovery.


Share Our Strength[R] Restaurants for Relief[R] Event Raises Money for Gulf Coast Rebuilding

MINNEAPOLIS -- Buca di Beppo Buca di Beppo is an American restaurant chain specializing in immigrant Southern Italian food. The name roughly translates as "Joe's Basement" (Beppo is slang for Joe in Southern Italy and Buca means basement (literally it means "hole") in Italian).  (Nasdaq:BUCA) donated $15,900.48 to the hurricane recovery effort last month, raising the money as part of the Share Our Strength's Restaurants for Relief([R]) 2 event. The company donated a percentage of sales in each of their stores on Aug. 29, 2006. This follows up a similar program in 2005 when Buca donated approximately $50,000 to this effort, bringing the total to about $66,000 in the past year.
