Brylane Forms Three New Divisions as Part of A Company-wide Restructuring.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 2001

Brylane, Inc. today announced, as part of a strategic operating plan, the formation of three new divisions designed to place more focus on product development, catalogue presentation and continued quality customer service.

Brylane's catalogue business will now be divided into three groups: Special Size Group, Misses Apparel Group and the Brylane Home Lifestyles Group.

"This new structure will enable us to improve our products and presentation, while offering greater service to our customers," says Chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Russell Stravitz. "We believe these actions will strengthen our business by utilizing shared talent and lowering our cost structure, thus improving our bottom-line."

. The Misses Apparel Group, consisting of Chadwick's, Lerner and Jessica London will be managed by Steve Goldberg, President of Brylane's Home Lifestyles Group in New York on an interim basis. Mr. Goldberg will also continue to oversee the Brylane Home Lifestyles Group, made up of Brylane Home and future category extensions.

These reorganization efforts will result in the elimination of 5% of Brylane's executive workforce. "The decision to reduce overhead through this restructuring restructuring - The transformation from one representation form to another at the same relative abstraction level, while preserving the subject system's external behaviour (functionality and semantics).  initiative was not an easy one as the company has benefited from the participation of many of the individuals who are leaving," said Mr. Stravitz. "Yet, even in this challenging market environment, we remain confident in the future of the Brylane business and look forward to the new model promoting growth and profitability."
