Bryan's in the mood for US journey after pounds 1,000 boost.


RETIRED firefighter Bryan Jones thought it was a flight of fancy when told he was the pounds 1,000 winner in our Crazy Cash competition.

But when the news sank in he immediately turned his thoughts to flights of a different kind.

Straight away the dad-of-two started planning a trip to the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. .

The 67-year-old, from Old Colwyn Old Colwyn (Welsh Hen Golwyn), is a small town just to the east of Colwyn Bay, in the county borough of Conwy, north Wales. Prior to local government reorganisation in April 1974 it was part of the Municipal Borough of Colwyn Bay, but the reorganisation established it as a , found out just two years ago he had relatives in Kansas.

Three of his great-great-grandfather's sons emigrated in the mid-19th century.

Last September he attended a reunion and now plans a return trip in October.

Bryan, who was born and brought up in Bangor, served for 30 years in the Staffordshire, Denbighshire and Montgomeryshire fire services
"Fire Services" also refers to fire fighting services.


Fire Services (Chinese:消防) is a Hong Kong football club. The majority of the players are working for the Fire Services Department in Hong Kong and playing for the club on
 before retiring in 1988.

A married man, he is a familiar figure in choral circles.

He represented Cor Meibion Colwyn on the North Wales North Wales (known in some archaic texts as Northgalis) is the northernmost unofficial region of Wales, bordered to the south by Mid Wales and to the east by England.  Association of Male Voice Choirs, was programme secretary for the Festival of 1,000 Voices at the Royal Albert Hall in 1991 and chairman of the organising committee of the 1,000 Voices Festival in 1994. He is now a life member of the Colwyn choir.

Mr Jones lives with wife Heulwen, a former nurse, in Victoria Road, Old Colwyn.

He is secretary of the Undeb y Cymry ar Wasgar, the Welsh exiles' movement and is secretary of the Llandudno branch of Gwynedd Family History Society.

He was one of thousands of readers to correctly say the name for a fixed monthly transfer of money from a bank was a standing order.

After the news of his win sank in Bryan added: 'It's great news and I'll be putting it towards my trip
