(NYSE-BW) today approved a major expansion and upgrading of the Alloy capabilities at the Company's Elmore, Ohio Elmore is a village in Ottawa County, Ohio, United States. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 1,426. Geography Elmore is located at (41.470067, -83.292115)GR1. facility. This project will involve a total capital expenditure of $110 million over the next three years. The project encompasses equipment for melting, casting, rolling and finishing high-quality copper beryllium beryllium (bərĭl`ēəm) [from beryl ], metallic chemical element; symbol Be; at. no. 4; at. wt. 9.01218; m.p. about 1,278°C;; b.p. 2,970°C; (estimated); sp. gr. 1.85 at 20°C;; valence +2. strip. In addition, the new capacity will incorporate state-of-the-art environmental, health and safety technology, so as to be the safest possible work place, and have minimal impact on the external environment. "Construction on the expansion is scheduled to commence almost immediately. The new capacity will be fully operational in 1998.
